'Team Richard Alan' enter local charity golf day event and take home the winning prize!
There are a number of keen golfers at Richard Alan, so when the team were invited to support the Sharlston & Streethouse Youth Foundation (SSYF) Charity Golf day there were a list of people ready and waiting to take up the challenge. For the 2nd year running Richard Alan signed up to compete and raise money for a great cause.
The SSYF provide support in Sharlston & Streethouse in all areas of Sport, Education, Business and the Arts. Over the years they have contributed to the Sharlston Cricket Club, provided Sharlston School with iPads, given shirts for the under 7’s, 9’s and 11’s Sharlston RLFC and have helped with transport for local kids to attend sporting events.
Roy Moorby; Charity Founder said ‘The local areas of Sharlston & Streethouse are underfunded in many ways. If we can help 1 child succeed in their chosen field then we will have made a contribution. We are grateful for all the support we receive from local businesses like Richard Alan.’
The Golf Day event held on July 7th was designed to raise funds for new projects at Streethouse and Sharlston Schools including; new football and rugby posts and an all-weather surface for outdoor events.
Robert Johnson; Managing Director at Richard Alan is happy to be involved with the charity, ‘Getting local businesses involved is a great way to raise both funds and awareness of the charity and the needs of Sharlston & Streethouse areas, it is a great day for all involved’.
This year Joe Squire, Chris Oakland and Stuart Deakes entered as ‘Team Richard Alan’ and they are going to be a hard act to follow. Competing with 7 other teams they played hard, pulled together and surprise, surprise they won!
Well done to everyone involved, see you again next year for the title challenge!
