At a time when many businesses are struggling to cope with tough economic conditions, Richard Alan Engineering (RAE), well known for its provision of complete engineering solutions, has made a positive start to the new year with confirmation of new orders with two leading global companies.
For the tenth successive year, Ciba UK plc, the renowned worldwide manufacturer of speciality chemicals, has awarded RAE a manufacture and supply agreement to provide mixing and dosing equipment to complement its range of polymer chemicals. The equipment is for use predominantly in waste water management and paper making industries around the world.
RAE will supply equipment including stainless steel hoppers and tanks as well as dosing pump skids steelwork access platforms, all of which will be manufactured and assembled at the company's Dewsbury site.
Glen Forth, RAE's manager in charge of the contract, explained that renewal of the contract depended on substantial cost savings so that Ciba could maintain its competitive edge in the market place.
“Renewal of this contract helped to consolidate an excellent start to 2009 for RAE. It is a credit to all the employees who have worked hard to secure the contract and make sure that our ten year relationship with Ciba continues to be successful for both parties and thus play an important part in our respective development and growth”, said Edward.
Stephen Wilson, a senior manager at Ciba UK plc, said:
“We are delighted that this contract with RAE has been renewed. Our ongoing relationship ensures confidence of supply plus the high degree of flexibility that RAE provides and that we need to meet the exacting demands of our customers both locally and internationally”.
A second new contract has been awarded to RAE by Rhodia UK Limited, which is part of the Rhodia group, another international chemical company. The contract, for 12 months with a further 12 months following an annual review meeting, is to manufacture and install pipework, mechanical services, steelwork, building work and scaffolding at Rhodia's Leeds plant.
Commenting on this contract, Edward Jennings, RAE's operations director, added:
“We have successfully undertaken other projects for Rhodia in Leeds and to secure another prestigious agreement reflects the quality of our products as well our commitment to the highest possible standards of service, which has been maintained consistently over many years by RAE”.
Barry Milner, site director for Rhodia in Leeds, said:
“Safety is a priority for Rhodia and we have confidence that RAE's staff understand this and can meet our requirements. The markets in which we operate mean we have to be flexible and responsive to change and we find that that RAE is equally responsive to our needs. We are looking forward to another mutually beneficial relationship”.
Richard Alan Engineering is part of the Richard Alan Group (RAG) and has gained an enviable reputation as a 'one stop shop' provider. It is the largest member of the group and credited with being the catalyst for the conception and development of RAG.
For many years, the company has provided engineering solutions to a long list of blue chip clients some as far afield as Sweden and France. With its highly skilled and trained workforce, RAE covers all aspects of heavy fabrication, sheet metalwork and structural steelwork and offers a full design and build service. |
